Constituent Services
I am committed to providing the residents of District 3 the very best constituent services. I strive to help residents fix problems, including issues with garbage pick-up, water, sewer, or the streets in their neighborhoods.
Public Safety
We are fortunate to be served by the greatest fire and police departments in the country. Since I became a member of the Phoenix City Council, I’ve had a chance to learn just how committed they are to protecting the residents of Phoenix. Likewise, I am committed to providing the Phoenix fire and police the resources they need to maintain their excellent level of service.
Parks & Preserves
District 3 is home to many parks and the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. I will work to enhance the recreational opportunities throughout District 3 which will improve the quality of life and attract more residents and businesses to the City of Phoenix.
Economy
In these bad economic times, I am working to bring jobs and development to the City of Phoenix. I am targeting vacant strip malls to attract new businesses, schools and other tenants to move into these strips malls. I will also be working to cut through the red tape at City Hall that is slowing down growth in Phoenix. I also am committed to bringing new employers with good jobs to Phoenix. Finally, I will make sure that the City of Phoenix is providing assistance to our residents who have recently lost their jobs or are at risk of losing their homes through foreclosure.
Budget
Times are tough all around – even at the City of Phoenix. Just like you have had to tighten your belt and cut your family budget, the City of Phoenix had to cut its budget as well. Those of us on the City Council must never forget that we are stewards of the taxpayers’ dollars. I am committed to maintaining the vital services the City of Phoenix provides while ensuring that we are not being wasteful in our spending.
Neighborhoods
We have vibrant neighborhoods in District 3 from Sunnyslope to the Paradise Valley Mall area. As a member of the Housing & Neighborhoods Subcommittee, I am working hard to preserve the unique character of our neighborhoods and celebrate their unique characteristics.
